Messages in bottles have been around for thousands of years. The first recorded bottle was released into the Atlantic Ocean around 310 BC. In the 16th century Queen Elizabeth I created the official position of  “Uncorker of Ocean Bottles”. Any other person who opened a sealed bottle could  face death. Messages in bottles have been sent by shipwreck victims hoping for rescue, navy ships sending out information about enemy positions, and soldiers trying to get their last messages to loved ones. Bottles have washed up on shores everywhere from Sweden to Maine and have spent from 6 months to 92 years at sea.

Of course, our message bottles are a little different. For one thing it will take much less than 6 months, and definitely not 92 years, for your bottle to get to its destination. Also we won’t behead you if you open a bottle meant for someone else. Our message bottles are a fun and unique way to tell someone you care about them, you appreciate them, or you were thinking about them (no shipwreck required).
